Winter Storm Warning - January 9, 2024

WINTER IS ON ITS WAY TO MONTAGUE TOWNSHIP!

Environment and Climate Change Canada has issued a Winter Storm Warning for the area, and our plows are ready to roll out for the incoming weather. 10-20 centimeters of snow, followed by some rain is going to make travel difficult for everyone. Our operators will be out trying to make the roads as safe as possible for you and your families, so extend the same courtesy to them! 

REMINDERS:

• Parking on Township roads & streets is NOT permitted. If your parked vehicle interferes with snow-clearing operations, fines will be levied and vehicles will be towed at the owner's expense.

• It is illegal to plow or shovel snow from a driveway across or onto a Township road.

• The Township is NOT responsible for damage to mailboxes, newspaper boxes or parked vehicles that interfere with snow clearing operations.

• Drivers, do your part by ensuring you take it slow, leave plenty of space, and drive to the road conditions, NOT the speed limit. Make sure your vehicle's lights are turned ON (not just your running lights), to assist with visibility.

GARBAGE AND RECYCLING COLLECTION:

• Collection is more than likely to be DELAYED due to the weather conditions. If collection is CANCELLED, the Township will update residents as information becomes available to us.

• Please ensure you place your collectable materials in your DRIVEWAY, away from the roadway to eliminate potential contact with a plow.
